Preserved
Identity preservation
refers to a system of production, handling and marketing practices
that maintains the integrity and purity of agricultural commodities.
SK Food International's
Premium Identity Program is our rigorous step-by-step Identity Preservation
program which ensures the integrity of our certified organic and
conventional non-GMO ingredients to meet our Premium Quality Ingredient
standards. Our Premium Identity Program manages each production
stage from seed selection, planting, growing, harvesting, storage,
transportation, processing, packaging and delivery. This is possible
with the support of our qualified growers, staff, certified third-party
inspection agencies, certified third-party laboratories, processors,
including SK Food Specialty Processing, and trucking companies.

Organic
Organic
certification is a certification process for producers of organic
food and other organic agricultural products. In general, any business
directly involved in food production can be certified, including
seed suppliers, farmers, food processors, retailers and restaurants.
Requirements vary from country to country, and generally involve
a set of production standards for growing, storage, processing,
packaging and shipping that include:
- avoidance of most synthetic chemical inputs (e.g.
fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, food additives, etc), genetically
modified organisms, irradiation, and the use of sewage sludge;
- use of farmland that has been free from chemicals
for a number of years (often, three or more);
- keeping detailed written production and sales
records (audit trail);
- maintaining strict physical separation of organic
products from non-certified products;
- undergoing periodic (yearly) on-site inspections.
SK Food
International is certified organic as a handler/trader by USDA-accredited
certification agency, Quality Assurance International, for NOP,
EU Compliance and JAS. |

Non-GMO
Project Verified
GMOs (or “genetically
modified organisms”) are organisms that have been created through
the gene-splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic
engineering, or GE).
The Non-GMO Project is
an initiative of the North American organic and natural product
industry to create a standardized definition of non-GMO and a 3rd
party verification program to assess product compliance with this
Standard. The Project's Product Verification Program is entirely
voluntary, and participants are companies who see the value of offering
their customers a verified non-GMO choice. Many of the individuals
and businesses leading the way with the Project are the same ones
responsible for creating the original organic standards.

Non-GMO Project visit its website at http://www.nongmoproject.org/.
